NASA

National Aeronautics and Space Administration also known by (NASA) was established by President D. Eisenhower. The new agency became operational on October 1, 1958.Since that time, most U.S. space exploration efforts have been led by NASA, including the Apollo Moon-landing missions, the Skylab space station, and later the Space Shuttle. NASA is supporting the International Space Station and is overseeing the development of the Orion Multi-purpose Crew Vehicle, the Space Launch System and Commercial crew vehicles. The agency is also responsible for the LSP which provides oversight of launch operations and countdown management for unmanned NASA launches.
1962 February 20 - Astronaut John Glenn became the first American in orbit. Then in 1965 June 3 - Astronaut Ed White became the first American to walk in space.  And this was one of the most significant events occurring for NASA. another most significant event that really marked NASA for a long time was that in 1986 January 28 - The Space Shuttle Challenger exploded seconds after liftoff. This event was so significant for them because they felt as if they had failed. It was an event that became unforgettable for them. but it didn't all end there, in 1990 August 24 the Space Shuttle Discovery deployed the Hubble Space Telescope. 2002 November 22 first crew to live long period of time on space. Many other things happened during that time but then came another unforgettable event and that was in 2003 February 1 - The Space Shuttle Columbia exploded on re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.

What are NASA'S most recent projects ? The Meteoroid Environment Office is involved in several research projects with institutions located throughout North America. The underlining goal of these projects is to gain a better understanding of the meteoroid environment so that MEO environment models can be improved.

My Favorite Part Of Earth And Space

I don't think I have a favorite part of this class I can honestly say I enjoyed every single part of it.
But if I was to choose I would say surprisingly my favorite part was doing presentations. The reason I say my favorite part was doing presentations is because I have never been good at talking in front of people. I have huge stage fright. But because we had to do presentations every quarter this made me lose stage fright, I remember at the beginning I was so afraid to talk even though we were in groups it was just so hard for me to stand in front of people and present, but as time passed by it became easier and easier to talk in front of people. Now that i did my last presentation and I had to stand there in front of the class all by self and I think I did pretty well , which makes me feel very proud of my self. Also not only did I do very good in my last presentation but I also enjoyed the topic I was working on. Sagittarius B2 , this topic was very interesting to me because its something that I know not much people were aware of, i my self wasn't even aware of it. When my mom asked me what my presentation was about and I told her she was amazed she said she had no idea such thing existed and not only my mom but i noticed when i was presenting a lot of people were surprised by my topic. They asked questions and i was able to answer them all so that made me feel great.
But like i said i have no Favorite part of this class. I actually think that was my favorite class over all at school. The students in it were amazing the environment was comfortable and the teacher was #1!

Sagittarius B2 Quarterly Project

SB2

I really enjoyed doing my project, I learned a lot of new things. I learned that Sagittarius B2 is made up of alcohol,  in fact three types of alcohol. But only one type is drinkable, either way no one would ever be able to go to this cloud because the other types of alcohol are toxic and they would kill you. In fact some of the liquids in this cloud are made up of the same liquid we use as antifreeze. I was very amazed at how this celestial body smells like berries, I would have never imagined a cloud would smell like a fruit on planet earth. Also I love the colors that make this cloud up, the mix of colors is beautiful. I think that my peers liked my presentation, it was funny how they were all interested in the part that said this cloud had alcohol. I learned that this cloud is located in the middle of the milky way and it is also somewhat very far away from planet earth. The temperatures in this cloud are very sparse some are extremely hot while others are extremely cold. Overall I had tons of fun doing this project and I feel like I have improved in my presenting skills I feel more confident than I did at the beginning of the year.

Global Warming

Global Warming
Global Warming has been around for many years now. But we did not see the consequences until a couple of years back. Sadly we aren't doing anything to stop Global Warming, instead we are making it worse. You ask yourself now why is it that this is happening? How do we know it is happening? Finally, what can we do to stop this?

Global Warming is hapenning for many different reasons one of the them being, us. We have created many new technological advances, these have helped with global warming, because we use many resources to make them function. For example we burn fossil fuels, this creates pollution and affects the greenhouse gases. We know this is happening because we have examined the temperature changes over ages using ice glaciers. Also these are melting slowly, and causing sea levels to rise. Polar bears are dying because as the ice glaciers melt they have no where to live.

We can do many things to stop this, we just need to act fast before it is too late. This is one of the most important issues around, but we never seem to pay attention. I honestly think this should be our number one concern because without planet earth we are nowhere. Let's start reducing our CO2 emitions and start car pooling instead. Find the better ways, not the easy ways out.
