Title: MT.FUJI
By: Lauren Fuessel
I learned that Mt. Fuji is located in Honshu, Japan. The last time Mt.Fuji erupted was in December 16 1707. Killing many people, at the same time as producing nutrients for planet earth. Mt.Fuji is a holy place for Japanese because they believe one of their gods used to live there. This mountain has amazing views, perfect for pictures.

Title: The Missing Link
By: Lawrence Elliot & Arvind Bala
I learned in this presentation that both Yellowstone and Hawaii were formed from "hotpots". Basically what happens is that there is a hole in the earth's crust, from which magma is coming out. Over millions of years a mountain starts forming, and as this is happening the plates are moving which let the chain continue, and form many mountains that are right next to each other.

Title: Micro Fossils
By: Rodolfo Martinez
I leaned that micro fossils are small versions of fossils which are mainly made up of bacteria and protists. A major micro fossil is called foraminifera, which make up sedimentary rocks. Micro fossils are studied under a microscope, they are very important in our economy because they help us male oil and petroleum, they are natural resources.

Field Trip To The Gorge

Zaira Perez

The gorge is a great place to visit, if you are ready for an amazing adventure and ready to learn a lot of new things. In the tour I learned that the Gorge was made in July 2002 when a flood took place. The peak flow was about 70,000 cubic feet per second. The erosion that took place in these three days cause a lot of damage, it revealed what is now called Canyon Lake Gorge. I also learned about the unicellular organisms that were all over the grounds, they are micro fossils and help with age-dating, which means they help geologists decide how old the sediments layers in earth are. The gorge is made up of sedimentary rock, the older rock is gray because of all the mold that grows on it, but the tour guide mentioned that when chunks fall of you can tell because they are a white color, they still have not grown mold. I also got to see dinosaur tracks, it was unbelievable. The tour guide said that the dinosaur that had made those tracks was as big as our school bus! I also learned that the oldest layer of rock are at the bottom and the youngest at the top. Water flowing through the gorge created canals at the end of the gorge, the tour guide mentioned that people would ask if they made these, but he said they didn't. Over all I had a great time with my friends and Ms. Robinson I am looking forward to the next trip.

Zaira's Geode Rock.
I am doing my project about geode rocks where i am basically going to give cool information about geodes. i will be talking about the different type of geodes there are, how are they formed, where can they be found etc . i will be describing geodes with details letting y'all know about the type of minerals they consist of the type of crystals they have inside and what type of rock is a geode.
