Devils Tower

My second quarter project was about the devil's tower, which is a monument in Wyoming. The devils tower started off as a laccolith, as the time passed sedimentary rock around the laccolith started to erode and the devils tower was the only thing left, which is made out of igneous rock. The devils tower was very special to american indians, there are many legends about why they worship the devils tower and why it has such name.There ae six types of american indian tribes that worship the devils tower, they all have strange names, but unique cultures. The devils tower now a days is a a main attraction for toursim, many tourists go every year just to hike the devils tower scary huh ? Since the devils tower is scared to many american indians there are specific places where hikers can climb.  Another fact about devils tower is that it was the first monument in the U.S president Theodore Roosevelt declared this in 1906 it was also used to film the movie "Close encounters of the third kind." The devils tower is a beautiful place for a vacation, and a great place to hike.
